Buying a home with unsettled credit cards

Posted on: 27th Jun, 2013 12:03 am
Hi... Hopefully someone can help me here. I have 3 unsettled credit cards. Now I plan to buy a home. Will the unsettled credit cards create a problem for me?

Hi Kasey,

With unsettled credit cards, it will be difficult for you to get qualified for a mortgage. It will be better if you follow what Niicss has said and settle your credit card debts.

Thanks

Hi Kasey,

You can surely get mortgage with unsettled credit cards but, the interest rate will be very high. So, it is better to settle your credit card debts before applying mortgage.

Instead of settling your credit cards, just try to negotiate for a better repayment plan so that you do not hurt your credit rating, as you'd be buying a home immediately after that.
