Before the winter hits the country, I’m planning on applying for pre-approval in the next couple of months. I was thinking about staying with my in-laws for as long as we could stand it and they could stand us being there. We are saving a lot of money by doing so, and I figured why not hang in there a bit longer and save even more? That means possibly looking for houses during MI winter. What are some advantages (if any) and disadvantages to buying a house in the winter?
Hi Sardine,
If you want to buy a property during the winter months, you will have to face less competition which can be considered as an advantage. But again, it should also be noted that there will also be fewer houses for sale. Moreover, fewer people house hunt during the winter because of the holidays and weather.

Hi Sardine,
I personally feel that the mortgage interest rates are going quite low and the terms are also flexible. If you meet all the required criteria of the lender, it won't be much of a problem whether you buy your property in the winter months or the summer months.
Thanks
