Just heard we are officially in underwriting. That’s a great news to me!! How long does it usually take from now to closing? LO says the only thing that would go wrong at this point is if we lied about our income.
Hi Guest,
I can't tell you the exact time limit but the whole process should complete soon. If the underwriter finds that all documents are in place, then you will be able to close the loan ASAP.

Yes, you have to be ready with all the necessary documents and send them to the underwriters at once, after submitting your mortgage loan application. This is because underwriters serve on 'first come, first serve' basis.
Why should you tell a lie about your income? Telling a lie does no way brighten your loan approval prospects. Whatever you are telling before the lender, that gets verified by the underwtiter. Closing time depends only how quickly you can provide the documents.
I agree with what Guest has said!! :)
Guest;
Typical turnaround time from start to finish could be anywhere between 24 hours to 30 business days. My underwriting turnaround time is 72 hours.
