Hi,
I am looking to get pre-approved for an FHA with my Mom as a non-occupant co-borrower. Her credit is pristine.
Unfortunately, I have a bankruptcy from 7 years ago but have made payments on time since. The only other issue is I am a co-borrower on a auto loan for my ex-boyfriend who is consistently late on his payments. Does this completely ruin this for me?

Hi whenitshines!

As 7 years have passed since you filed bankruptcy, it will not affect you much when you apply for a mortgage. However, the late payments on the auto loan will hamper your chances of getting the loan. You should contact your ex-boyfriend and ask him to refinance the loan and release you from the liability of the loan.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
