My wife and I are considering a home buying through a FHA loan. I have between a 644 and 658 range and my wife a 684 and 693 range of FICO scores. How will those scores affect our application for a mortgage? I am on SSD and have for ~3 yrs now. That would be our source of income.
The scores that you have mentioned will help you get qualified for a FHA loan. You should get in touch with the local FHA lenders and apply for a loan. The lender will check if you meet the other required criteria and let you know whether or not you qualify for another loan.
HI Guest,
This community has large number of lenders. You can seek a no obligation free mortgage quote from them and get to know whether or not you can get a loan.

As both of you have optimum scores so there should any problem in taking a house on FHA scheme. You can take loan as joint or separate, for which you just need to check the requirements listed in the forms and get all the aspects verified before applying for a loan.
Usually credit score demanded to offer an FHA loan is 620. On that count, both you and your wife would be eligible for an FHA loan. But, you have to meet other criteria too.
