Hi there… I was laid off in 2010 (after 14 years). I returned to college full-time to finish my degree. Now, as I approach graduation, I am considering home ownership. After graduation does FHA require me to work for 2 years before I can qualify?
Hi Nadal,
As far as I know, if you prove that you were going to school to obtain a degree to work in a specific career or better yourself in a career you were in previously, that will suffice. In that case, the lender may not ask for 2 years of employment history.
Take care

You would need to be hired in the same line of work as your degree is in for the school to count as your 2 year history. You also would have to show 30 days of paystubs before a lender would approve your loan. Once you are hired in same line, and receive full months paystubs, you can then apply with any lender you choose. Good luck
