is a foreign co-borrower possible?

Hello,

My boyfriend and I are in an odd situation. We have no credit - not because of bad credit cards, but because we have only ever had one credit card between us, and have never had any reason to get a loan until now. We are interested in purchasing a house and would need his father to co-sign, which he is willing to do, and his credit is excellent. However, his father is now a French citizen, and lives in France. Would you foresee any issues with his being our responsible co-borrower, given his foreign citizenship and residence? If so, do you have any other suggestions for us?

Thanks so much!
G.
Hi g,

It will depend upon the lender whether he would be ready to let a foreign national co-sign for the loan. In my opinion, chances are less that the lender would agree to it. I would suggest you to improve your credit and then lookout for a loan. To know more about improving credit, check out the following link:

Thanks
