I am married and want to take out a VA loan. However, my wife has bad credit. Will that affect my chance of getting a VA loan?
Hi Guest,
If you are not living in a community property state, then your wife does not have to be on the loan. In that case, her bad credit won't matter much and you can get the VA loan in your name.
Thanks

It does not matter if you are in a community property state or not.
You can get a VA loan.
In a community property state, her monthly debts would be counted in the debt ratio calculation. The fact that her credit history is bad does not matter.
