I have been in the US since Jan 2005, and have worked for the same company since then; however, I am not sure if I qualify for a home loan. My employer is in process of filing for my permanent residence and I still have my H1 until 2011.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi ocal,
As far as I know, you can get a mortgage though you are under H1 Visa. You'll have to contact the lenders and check out the rates and terms you'll get when you apply for a loan. However, getting a loan will depend upon your credit score and income as well. In order to get a FHA loan, you would need a minimum credit score of 620 whereas for a conventional loan, you'll require a credit score of 720.
This community also has a number of lenders. You can seek a no obligation free mortgage consultation from them and get an idea about the rates and terms you can expect to get.
Thanks
