I am non-US resident living in CHina. How can i get a mortgage given that I willing to put over 50% down payment and showing some of my asset proof in CHina?

If you want to purchase a property in the U.S, then I don't think the proof of assets that you have in China will help you in any way. Though you have a good down payment to offer, lenders will want to check out your income, credit scores and debt to income ratio, that you've in the U.S. Nevertheless, I would suggest you to contact the local lenders and check out if you can qualify for a loan.
there are two basic things you have to consider.
1) Do you want to take loan in US for property.
2) yOUR CREDIT details.

Hi all,
How could I find local lenders contact, say in Detroit, any referral name or suggested websites?
Please elaborate on the credit details, you mean I only get from China only, basically we do not have any US credit score equivalent, given i am buying US house and taking loan in US bank?
