joint mortgage

I have a joint mortgage with an ex partner than we agreed to him leaving the house. I have paid for the house mortgage for more than a year plus bills.
I want to rent the house, and those payments I will use to pay the mortgage.
Can my ex partner claim 50% of this rent? Do I need his signature/agreement to rent the house?
Thank you for your answer
I would have to think that your agreement with the ex partner would continue to rule regardless of whether you occupy the property or not. However, if your agreement only covered the monthly mortgage payments to be made, that could cause you some consternation.

It seems like your arrangement might only be informal - it would have been nice to have formalized it earlier, but you may just want to get it all down on paper and agreed to at this time. Does he have any rights? Well, if he's still an owner, then the answer is definitely yes.
