I am in the middle of a VA home loan. About 40% finished. I have a judgement against me from 2007 for an old medical bill for approx. $6,200.00
Is this going to kill my chances of the loan getting approved?

Judgment will have to be paid.
Did loan officer not go over this?

Hi Michael,
I agree with Tom Burris. It is very important to pay off the judgment in order to get any kind of loan. If there is a judgment mentioned in your credit report, the lender will insist that you pay it off before you get the loan.
Thanks

I just wish they would have said this from the very beginning instead of now. On a better note, I contacted the court here and it's not for $6,400. It's for $3,200 which is more doable I think. Don't know why it's showing up as $6400
It's probably $6,400.00 because of interest, administrative and legal fees. And it'll keep increasing until it's paid.
Wasn't so bad. Came up to $4,500, all paperwork got submitted and moving forward again :)
Congrats Michael!! :)
