I'm trying to obtain a small personal loan of $2500 by using our fully paid off mobile home as security.
Our double wide mobile is valued at $30,000.
I have been trying to find information about this but ONLY seem to be able to find mobile home mortgage loans and we already OWN the home.
Any ideas as to where I can find out what I am looking for?

dave, if you are a member of a credit union, or a small community bank or something like either of those, you might try there. they might be willing to hold your title as collateral...then again, a loan of $2500 ought to be obtainable with signature only and no collateral at all. you didn't indicate your credit situation. you can check yellow pages for loan companies that might provide that amount of money without the need for the title.
Basically, that's the only thing we have going for us is the fact that we have our double-wide paid off and that alone should be worthy as a security asset. We're not even looking for 10% of the value of the mobile.
Seems like a reasonable risk to most lenders IF you are willing to put your home up as collateral. I guess we'll see...

i'd agree with your assessment of the situation, dave. keep in mind that lenders have no desire to have to own a mobile home that's been pledged as collateral. the last thing they want to do is to have you default on your loan.
I just landed a new job today so I probably won't even need to borrow any money... Praise the Lord for that!!

and don't we know that God is good, dave! Hallelujah for the new job.
Yes George, God truly is amazing. You absolutely must keep the faith at ALL times because just when things seem to be at the absolute worst is WHEN God comes through the most. You have to give it ALL to Him and simply ask for His help and then keep your eyes open because usually something very powerful is about to happen IF you "believe" it will.
IF you trust in the Lord, He will meet your needs...
May God Bless ALL those who happen to read this message...

We 'bout to have church up in here!
lol, since when did this become a gospel forum!
great to hear some good news on here though - congrats on the job Dave, though I suspect it had more to do with you being the best person for the joba nd getting it on your own merits than Divine Intervention, but hey at the end of the day it's great news so who cares what the source is!

when He steps in, you don't need to be the best man for the job. and, of course, we are subject to divine intervention every day of our lives. He woke me up this morning, at least.
