How to get a mortgage and be newly self employed

Posted on: 16th Nov, 2010 02:58 pm
I have excellent credit (715) but have been self employed only for a year. I am looking for a 50k home loan and was wondering if I could qualify for a FHA loan if possibly I got my parents to co-sign? I have absolutly no debt, and about 20k in business assets. Thanks
Welcome jessicamorales,

The lender will want you to show 2 years of employment history in order to give you the mortgage. If your parents have a good employment history, then you should ask them to cosign for the mortgage so that you qualify for the loan.
