My brother wants me to co-sign for a house that he is buying. He has never cared for me but for the past few months, he has been acting friendly. I do not want to co-sign for him. I believe one should go for a home which he or she will be afford to manage on their own. But if I tell him no, he will hate me. What do you recommend?
Hi Gilly,
You are right when you say that you do not want to co-sign for your brother's property. Just say a "NO" on his face and forget whatever he thinks about you all throughout his life. You have yourself mentioned that he never cared for you. So you should also not bother to care what he thinks about it. By denying to co-sign for his loan, you will actually do a favor on yourself.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Gilly!
Welcome to the forums!
I agree with what Jerry has said. You should say a no on his face and do not bother yourself with what he will be thinking. Save yourself from a big financial mess.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
