what recourse does the bank hAVE when they released the mortgage by accident
Welcome Guest,
If the mortgage has been released, then I don't think that the bank has any recourse to collect the mortgage anymore.

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
Once the mortgage is released, it means that the borrower is no more liable to pay any further mortgage payments. I agree with Adonis that the lender won't have any further recourse.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
