Hi jsheasgreen,
What type of bankruptcy did you file? If you filed Chapter 13, you will be able to qualify for a conventional mortgage after 2 years provided you meet the required criteria of the lender.

Have you tried an fha loan or do you qualify for a HUD , maybe you both would qualify for the Habitat, I know my friend did and she had to work on it so long to get her mortgage and she worked on other peoples Habitat homes and that helped her to qualify. I would do that if I could but I am disabled and with my age they wont let me work on one, its worth a try
You must approach to a company that helps in getting a mortgage and present your case with current and past details of the schemes that you had before the bankruptcy. The probability of getting a mortgage is very high because of your present good financial status .
