I have a couple of questions that I need assistance on. They are:
1. In what type of court or department are Mortgage Promisory Notes recorded?
2. Is there a way to access these notes in order to obtain the full contact information of the owners who hold the note or lien as well as the specifications of the property including the portfolio and location?
3. Is there a database for investors who are willing to buy these notes?
4. Does anyone know the process for obtaining this note and brokering the deal between the two parites?
Your responses will be most appreciated.

Hi LiteratiPrima!
Welcome to forums!
As far as I know, the promissory note gets recorded at the county recorder's office. You can contact the county recorder's office in order to find out if there is a lien on the property. Apart from this, a title search company will be able to help you in this regard. Federal investors like Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, etc., generally buy such notes. In order to be a private investor and buy the notes, you may have to get in touch with the lenders.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I tried accessing county recorder's office to no avail. It's a catch 22 situation. Trying to get into the notes business and doing my research on the topic but some websites do not appear very reputable so if you know anything about this business would appreciate your feedback.
Get in touch with the local lenders. They may help you in this matter.
