Qualifying for a FHA mortgage loan with a co-signer

Posted on: 30th Sep, 2010 06:36 am
i am currently a homemaker with no income. my boyfriend provides income for our family but recently had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy due to a divorce. my credit score is about 640 and because of his situation we were not going to include him for loan approval. if my parents make plenty of money and have great credit, will they let me have them co-sign a loan for me even though i don't have any provable income myself? or is there anyway to use my boyfriend's income without using his credit record?

thank you for your time
Hi theogbiancab,

The lender will want that the primary borrower should have some kind of income. Though your parents co-sign for your loan, the lender may not be ready to give you a mortgage. Nevertheless, I'll suggest you to contact the local lenders and apply for a mortgage to check out whether or not you'll get one.

Thanks
