How long before Loan becomes void?

Posted on: 13th Jul, 2009 04:56 pm
We signed the loan paperwork almost 2 months ago and have not heard from anyone. How long before the loan application is no longer valid?
Which bank? Did you sign a rate lock agreement form? Did they lock you into a rate?

If you did not pay a lot in fees so far, then consider moving to a new lender.

I have not paid anything. We have a new lender that say they can close in 10-12 bus. days. We just don't want to be on the hook for any broker or closing fees if we move to another lender.

Hi tdurand!

Welcome to forums!

As you've mentioned that you haven't paid anything and there's a new lender who can close in 10-12 days, I think you should go with this new lender. In my opinion, this will help you in getting the loan easily.

Feel free to ask if you've further fees.

you won't have to worry about the initial lender. if they haven't contacted you in 2 months, they won't be any time soon, either.

Will I still be liable for any broker fees?

If the deal does not go through, you won't be liable for the broker fees.
