My daughter is a co owner on my mortgage and her name is on my deed.. Will she have a problem buying a home on her own and will she be considered a first time home buyer so that she can get the stimulus package.
Hi maggiestone,
As your daughter's name is mentioned on the mortgage deed and the property, she will not be considered as a first time buyer. She may face difficulty in getting a mortgage as her name is on the mortgage of one property.
Thanks

To qualify for the federal tax credit for a first time home buyer, one must have entered into a contract to purchase by April 30, 2010 and close by June 30, 2010.
Today is May 18, 2010. No one is eligible any more even if they are a frist time buyer.
Your daughter would not have been eligible if she lives in the house as her main home. If she were an owner but lived elsewhere, she may have been eligible.
Some states still have their own programs. We idea what state you are talking about.
