Post Your detailed question here...Would I become responsible for the existing mortgage on the property that was deeded over to me?
details, please
hi ljnnn,
the original owner of the property and the mortgage will have to inform the lender about the transfer of the property. the lenders always want that the mortgage should be in the name of the person who owns the property. once the property is deeded to you, the lender will ask you to refinance the property. once you refinance the property, you'll be responsible for the mortgage.
thanks

If you were strictly just added to title or a non obligated co borrower, then no, you are not responsible. But if you are on the loan, then yes. Hope that helps.
