In some srates, the law reqires that both spouses sign the mortgage. What is the Maryland law regarding this?
Hi joleacrawford!
Welcome to forums!
Maryland is not a community property state. It is an equitable property state. In such a situation, both the spouses may not be on the mortgage. Anyone of the spouses can apply for a loan and qualify for it.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
