Medicate is for needy people and you will have to qualify to get the advantages of medicate. The guide lines to qualify for Medicate vary from state to state.

It is called Medicaid, which is the same as MaineCare in the state of Maine. Just so you know.

I think you can keep home while you are in nursing home. Medicaid will recover your medical costs only after you pass away. This is done through the estate recovery program. You may talk to an attorney especially one dealing with the Medicaid laws in this regard.
