I live in Michigan, Discover Bank hired lawyer to sue me for 2200.00 credit card debt. They were successful and a judgment was entered against me. The law firm has my financials, knows I am essentially uncollectible as I have no assets except my house. I owe 53,000.00 on mortgage. They have sent a summons to my mortgage company for any records and information on my account. I received a letter from them saying I would have to provide a court order to stop it. I co-own the house with a friend who is not my spouse or family member. Can anyone tell me what exactly is happening? I am about 20,000.00 in debt. I have no way to pay for it but should I also file Chapter 7?
Hi Porche,
I will suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this regard. They can't demand information from your mortgage company.
