hi
i am thinking about filing chapter 7 bankruptcy in michigan. i just had a baby and really see no other way out. the child care plus basic care she needs has me to the point where i do not have money for myself to eat. i am also including my house in the bankruptcy and moving back in with my parents. my question is though once i file do i have to leave the home right away?

Hi Guest,
As far as I know, you won't have to leave the property immediately after filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The bankruptcy court would give you some time to stay in that property. Once you surrender the property, you will have to leave it immediately.
