Am I able to use a quitclaim deed to a cousin and is there anyway of preventing my name from being placed on this property again?

I live in Michigan. My name was placed on my G-mother's property when I was a minor (about 15yrs old), after her husband died. I have since married and have changed my last name. I have asked her to remove my name but she hasn't. The taxes are now delinquent and I don't want my name on this property any longer, there are 2 properties the house she lives in and a lot right next door. I understand I am responsible for the taxes. A cousin is also on the owner/tax payer information. Would I be able to do a quitclaim deed to the cousin and is there any way of preventing my name from being placed on this property again? The G-mother's name is not on this property at all for ownership or tax payer information. I just don't want to be held responsible for years of unpaid taxes or anything else to do with this property.
Hi brownietroop!

Welcome to forums!

You can sign a quitclaim deed and get the property transferred in your name. You should contact an attorney and he will help you in this process. However, you won't be able to prevent your name from being placed on this property again.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
