joint tenancy

Both our parents have died and the question I have is that they lived in a mobile home and just before my mom's death according to my sister the mobile home park's managment approached her and told her that she should have my mom put her on the home's paperwork in the event of her death which she did. Since both my mom and father left everything to divide among all the siblings, does the mobile home, since it goes through the DMV department mean that it is in joint tenancy with my mother and does it now belong solely to my sister or is it still to be divided among all us? The property itself belongs to my brother.
Hi Melanie,

Welcome to the forum.

I think you can do a title search to see who is the present owner of the property. And also contact with an attorney regarding this.

Thanks

Hi Melanie,

If the property title is in your brother's name, he should decide as to who will reside in it, or to whom he may transfer it after his mom's death. I think your brother should talk to the mobile home park management and settle the issues of ownership rights.

Take Care
