Can my homeowners association make me put my husband on the mortage in order for him to participate in the association meetings?

I bought the home prior to my marriage to my husband. Our home owners association is still being controlled by the builder. They take our dues, but the maintenance of our neighborhood is less than desirable. My husband addressed this at our last meeting in a professional but to the point manner. The next morning I received an email from the homeowners stating my husband had to be on the deed to speak and if tried again in future meetings he would be escorted from the meeting by police. What can I do about this? I live in Texas a community property state, we co-mingle our money and my husband helps pay for taxes, mortgage and up keep on the home. In my will I have left him the home should I die before him. I don't feel like I should have to put him on the deed because I have made it clear he is a homeowner with me.
Hi clientsuccessfirst ,

Welcome to mortgage fit,

Firstly I must appreciate you for specifically covering each and every minute detail in short ....

As Texas is a community property state, spouses have equal right in their property irrespective of who put the money, who earns more...

Although you have owned the property prior to marriage currently it is yours and you are married currently so it has to be shared.....

Forget everything about that email and just reply them with stating every possible argument you can present to prove that your husband does have a stake in the house even if he is not on the mortgage.

Make sure your husband takes active part in the next meeting and if then something shady happens you are free to go to the police/court....

Feel free to ask any further query if you have..........
