I own a 18 year old doublewide that is in very good condition. It sets on 5.5 acres of land. There is a rental home on the same property also in really good condition. Both homes and the property are paid for and have clear deeds. What we are trying to do is get enough money to do home improvements and upgrades on both homes. It's time for new roofs, porches, windows, flooring, etc....... How do I go about finding a finance company that is willing to give loans on doublewides?? I never dreamed this would be so complicated.
Hi deltabrown,
Things have really got complicated in the recent times following the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Many of the lenders have stopped offering loans against used mobile homes. It will not be easy for you to find a lender who would finance you 18 year old mobile home. You can contact your local lenders or can go for a no-obligation free mortgage consultation with the lenders in this community to check if you can get a loan using your doublewide mobile home as collateral.
