purchased used home 1987 in alabama, paid mortgage off in 1995, received notarized lien of satisfaction. was never registered with the serial number with the state. how do i prove ownership? home destroyed by tornado, FEMA needs paper showing i am still the legal owner of the home, home is located on parents property.

What happened to the notarized document? Did it ever get recorded at county? If nothing was recorded and you dont have a copy, then all you could do is locate anything you have. bill of sale, certificate of title from DMV. I hope you have something. Good Luck

You must have the documents related to the purchase of the property and you also have the notarized lien release certificate from the lender. This may help you prove the ownership of the property to FEMA.
