Hi All.. Got a question. My mother passed away in 2009. I am an only child, her lone heir and was named executor in her will which I probated shortly after her death.
I moved back to her home a few months following her death and have been paying property taxes and a LoC against the home of which I am already named as owner (& borrower).
I would like to change the name on the deed of the home.. what is the best way to go about it? A quit claim?

Hi BrockNJ!
Welcome to forums!
You have mentioned that you probated the will. Wasn't the property transferred in your name after the probate was complete? Normally after the probate is complete, the property gets transferred to the beneficiary.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Via the will yes the property transfers to me.. but the deed and ownership records in our town/county still reflect my mother's name. I am thinking that I needed to complete another step as the PR?

Hi BrockNJ,
You should contact your real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter. He will let you know what steps you need to take to get the property transferred in your name.
