I am the ex owner of the house and i was given a notice to vacate today. I am on unemployment and do not have the money to move. I think the bank bought the house back or another bank bought the house. I am not sure. What can I do? How long do I have before I have to leave. I am not a tennant so I do not get to have 90 days to save to move.
Hi barbaragallagher,
The notice to vacate the property will mention the time period within which you will have to leave the property. You will have to leave the property within that given time period. If you cannot leave the property immediately, then you should contact the lender and apply for the same. It will be his discretion whether or not he would consider your request and give you some more time to vacate the property.
Thanks

Hi jameshogg
Thank you for responding. The letter does not give a time. I t just states that "you are hereby required to vacate and deliver possession of the property now held by you immediatlely or dispossessory proceedings will be initiated" Imediately could mean anything. I will half to contact their attorney and get the lendercontact info.
Thank you again!

Hi barbaragallagher!
Welcome to forums!
You should immediately contact the attorney and check out when you need to move out of the property.

Hi Sussane,
Thank your for your advice. I did contact the attorneys office and I spoke to their paralegal and she stated that I probably have 60 to 90 days before I would have to move. She says that it is probably more like 60 days since I am not a tennant. And she also suggested that I hire an attorney.
Thank you again,
Barbara
