No title to mobile home that was purchased new

Posted on: 02nd Sep, 2009 11:53 am
My mother purchased a mobile home in NC in 1996. She never received title and want to turn it over to my brother and sister-in-law. Company that manufactured it is no longer in business, company that sold it doesn't have records any more and is not in same business. Motor vehicle says it was never registered with them so they can't give duplicate title, register of deeds has no record. Any ideas how to get title to her mobile home? She is the sole owner, purchased new in 3/96. Any help please.

Hi Kathy!

Welcome to forums!

As none of the concerned persons have a deed to the property, it would be difficult for your mother to transfer the property to your brother and sister-in-law. In my opinion, your mother should consult an attorney and take his opinion in this case. The attorney will let her know as to what steps she need to take in order to transfer the property to your brother and sister-in-law.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
