Transferring multiple properties on a single deed, held singly and jointly

Posted on: 29th Jul, 2010 07:19 am
Hi, we live in NC, a tenancy in entirety state. We would like to transfer several small tracts of land to our son, with the two of us (a married couple) retaining a life estate on those properties. We were wondering if anyone knew whether we could transfer the properties on a single deed (Tract 1, Tract 2, etc.)? Another consideration is that some property is held in my name only, some is held in my husband's name, and some has both our names. It seems that if we're both signing it shouldn't matter--but i'm know attorney. I appreciate the help here.
Hi Guest,

As the properties are separate and some of them are separately owned by you and your husband, both of you will have to sign separate deeds for separate properties and transfer them to your son.

Thanks
