If I buy a home prior to marriage and I am the only one on title and then get married down the road does my new wife have rights to the home if we divorce?
Hi Daryl!
Welcome to forums!
As far as I know, the dower rights are the rights that a non-owner spouse has in the real property of his or her spouse. In such a situation, your wife will be able to claim dower rights on your property though you have purchased it prior to your marriage.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
