owner financing and property taxes

Posted on: 14th Jan, 2013 09:30 am
I'm providing owner financing for a property. What type of letter should I send to remind buyer to pay property taxes? The mortgage is 8 months old and monthly payments have been paid but property is due and hasn't been paid yet. I understand I have liability for the taxes if not paid by the buyer. Thanks for any help offered.
Hi samphoebe!

Welcome to forums!

You can write a formal letter mentioning the fact that the property taxes are still unpaid which the buyers will have to pay off. You should ask the buyers to take steps to pay off the property taxes asap.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi samphoebe,

Does the owner finance agreement include the clause of "property taxes to be paid by the buyer"? If yes, then the buyer is liable to pay it. If not, then you may ask the buyer to leave the property due to the violation of the owner finance agreement.

Thanks
