Want to know if wife needs to sign new loan papers since they were not legally married when house was original purchased. They both moved in the home at the same time and wife has paid for lots of upgrades in the house but name is not on loan or deed.
Hi sandpan!

Welcome to forums!

If the wife has the required credit score and income, she can add her name to the mortgage docs when the loan is refinanced.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

In answer to the specific question, I have to opine that, as the sole owner, you would be the only person that's required to be a party to the transaction.
