We filed chapter 7 and then my husband lost job so we filled out help for our mortgage through our mortgage company and were not paying them for holding on to payment and I called several times and they needed more information gave them the information and then next I called to see when we would hear something and they said 10 days and next thing I know we have letter that there gonna forclose us how can that be is that because we filled chapter 7 and promised to pay mortgage? for we didnt know my husband was gonna lose his job?
hi jchisnall!

welcome to forums!

if you have filed chapter 7 bankruptcy, then the court must have declared an automatic stay. your lender cannot violate the automatic stay and foreclose upon your property. did you inform the lender that you have filed bankruptcy? i would suggest you to contact your bankruptcy attorney and ask him to send a certified letter to your bank. i think this will help you stopping the foreclosure of the property.

feel free to ask if you have further queries.
