Should I go ahead, or should I wait?

We have finally signed our closing documents, and we have already given them a cashiers check for the down payment. In process of buying this house, I was in a car accident and my car was totaled. Now I need to buy a new one.

My question is, since I have already signed and given the down payment, we were told, we are just waiting for "funding" to get the keys, wich can take up to 2 days. I have to return this rental car today, and wanted to go buy a new car today. Should I? Or should I still wait????

Thanks for your input
this seems contradictory to me, but i'll run with it anyway.

if you've closed and are merely waiting for funding, then i'd feel pretty safe, if i were you, to go ahead and car-shop - or buy it outright if that's your plan.

the purchase, at this point in the process, ought not to cause any hiccups.

I will be financing this new vehicle. I was just worried about credit. I was affraid they would do one last check before they hand over the keys. I figured if we have signed, and now we are only waiting for funding I would be in the clear. Just wanted to get some different opinions.

Thanks
