I am a married woman living in California but separated from my spouse who lives in the Philippines. I am in the process of buying a house which is now in escrow and used my own funds to buy this property. Escrow company want me to ask my spouse to sign the quit claim and have it notarized in the American Consulate. I dont want him to know that I am buying a house and will soon file a divorce. Can I still have the vesting of the title in my own name only. Thanks and more power to you.

i can understand your situation. my advise is to file divorce immediately. you can make contract & pay some amount to escrow company. & then ask some time for making balance payment.
