Property Tax

Posted on: 04th Aug, 2009 06:48 am
hi all,
I just bought a foreclose house for 700,000. The apprasal is 1,000,000. The house won't worth this much. The last owner bought the house for 1,100,000. It's way overprice. Now I pay for a 700,000 house, but has to pay tax for a 1,000,000 plus house. Is there anyway that I can contact our county for a tax reduce review? I want to pay my property tax, but I am not sure if my county over charge my house.
Thanks
ziggy, taxing authorities have an appeal process, and you can certainly appeal your valuation. check with your local tax office and ask what you need to do.
