private lender

Am considering using a private lender from out of state. Does a Texas lawyer need to review the motgage before we go to closing? Any other details I need to be aware of regarding this type of transaction?
It is always good for both seller and buyer to have some legal representation, so both of them are protected in case things go wrong in the future
