Quit Claim Deeds

Posted on: 16th Sep, 2009 05:58 am
mon and dad own farm land, dad passed, mom wants to add me and my sister to the deed and remove my dad. can this be done with a quit claim deed. also do we have to do one to remove dad and then one to add me and my sister.
Hi dhawk,

Welcome to our forum.

It's possible by quit claim deed, If your dad on deed & you recorded his death in records then his name will automaticaly remove from property deed. Now your mother is alone on property deed that means she has rights to add you & your sister to property deed. Your mother can do it by quite claim deed, Draft is by your attorney & record it in country records to make it validate.

Thanks & Regards.
