can the mortgage company require me to refinance the house?
Jpouncy,
I am still confused with your statement.Either your name will be on the deed and on mortgage your husbands. you are saying the same thing.
You being on deed and "bought our house in his name only" these two statements are contradictory to each other. will you explain it please.I am confused due to 'only' word.

you need not to worry. i hope your husband has already get the full disbursement of mortgage. & lender must have checked his financial health before approving mortgage

If you name is not on the mortgage but just on the deed then you do not need to refinance
