I am 26 years old, and currently in a credit counseling program. I desperately want to purchase a home. I currently pay $657/month in rent. This is driving me nuts knowin I am wasting so much money. How can I prepare myself to purchase a home? My financial advisor told me I will have to wait until 5 years after my debt is paid off to get a good rate on a loan. Is that true?

dolly is another of our phantom posters who pretend to be experts on one post, then turn around and act as neophytes in another. this is quite tedious. dolly, how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you're giving advice if you're going to be seen asking questions as if you've got no experience in life?
this has become a craze that's most annoying and i truly think it's detrimental to the things that we try to accomplish on here.
if you plan to post silly questions like you've done, please label them clearly as scenarios to be used as an example. identifying yourself as a homeowner, a new potential buyer, a bankrupt, a lender, etc. in separate posts is most confusing.

I have few posts from dolly which I have marked and most of them conflict with each other
