Hi
This seems interesting to me but was wondering if a forebearance is possible on a double wide mobile home. My husband has been unemployed for over year, I was managing to only be 1 month behind in our payments until his unemployment ran out, we are in the process of trying to get him diability, would forebearnace work in this instance do you think. I've been working anywhere from 60-70 plus hours a week. To try & keep things caught up, but it seems to take forever to get Soc Sec disability going, we thought we would be further along then this when the unemployment ran out. We are now 2 months delinquent in mortgage payments & the mortgage co keeps calling but I haven't been able to figure out where the money is going to come from. I just got things fixed with the lot rent, I have payment arrangements for most of the utilities & sometimes it's a case of do I get his medicine or do I get gas or food. And neither of us are Sr citizens in my eyes....my husband is 57 & I'm 47 & we have an 18 year daughter who is a Sr in high school. She is trying to find a job to be able to help out!

Either forbearance or a loan modification should work for you. The loan modification may take you further. You need to contact your loan company and explain the situation to them. They will then require that you provide documentation supporting your claims and get them copies of all of your expenses. It's hard but you need to be patient and keep contacting them. Most companies are literally working with thousands of people in the same situation. You need to be an advocate for yourself and follow up, follow up, follow up. Take down the name and employee id number of everyone you talk to so you can establish a trail for yourself and can reference conversations you had. One thing for sure you will never talk to the same person twice and you will need those references. Good luck.
