I think they were talking about a Loan Modification. did they mention the damage to your credit score?
It is a HUGE mistake. First of all, you will ruin your credit. Second of all, you are not guaranteed to get a loan modification. Finally, the bank could begin the foreclosure process before you get a chance to modify the loan.
