I bought a vacant lot in 2005 for 42,000 for investment only on a interest only mortgage which in april 2010 turns into a adj rate mortgage..It was tax accessed at 13,500 in 2008 and 4,000 in 2009...I have missed 3 payments on this so far..I had called the bank in early june abour refinancing..but they do not do vacant lots...I have a short sale offer of 3,000...say the bank accepts this..will i still be responsible for the remaining diff if they accept the offer for the short sale..or should i go for the deed in leiu forclosure route...I do not own any other property..i rent an apt..my fica score in aug was 870..I live in Fl..please tell me what you think..Thanks
You MAY be responsible. Call the bank. Meanwhile, where is this property located?
