My boyfriend was married before we met and had bought a Oakwood Mobile Home off an indivual and paid cash. But the indivual title jumped and they never got to switch the title over in their name, So Oakwood Mobile Home is the name on the title but oakwood got bought out by i believe Clayton Homes Inc.. When my boyfriend and his X Wife got a devorce the judge court ordered them to sell the trailer. But she is now saying that she lost the title and most of the paper work to the trailer! We live in West Virginia and the trailer is located in Ohio. What all do we need to do to get a deplicate title? Where do we go to get the imformation and What all would we have to have to even get this done?? PLEASE HELP US OUT WITH ANY KIND OF IMFORMATION ABOUT THIS!!! WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!
Hi Higgnewerra,
Your boyfriend can get a duplicate title by processing a duplicate title application at the Secretary of State Branch Office. He can also contact the title company for help.

See we went to the court house and talked to them and all they told us was that we needed to get ahold of Oakwood Mobile Homes cause they would have it on file BUT we cant contact them because they are no longer in buisness i believe Clayton Homes Inc. bought them out. So would Clayton Homes have it on file there? and another thing we live in West Virginia and the trailer is located in Ohio, so do we have to contact somebody at the Sec. Of State Branch Office in Ohio or West Virginia??? We really appreciate the help Thanks!!!!
THIS MOBIL HOME WAS ABOUNDED AND I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET A TITLE FOR THIS HOME SO I CAN GET IT ON THE MARKET.
Hi SHARON!
Welcome to forums!
You need to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in order to get information regarding the title of the mobile home. As far as purchasing the property is concerned, you need to contact a real estate attorney.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi ginny,
You should contact a real estate attorney and check out what steps you need to take in this regard. The real estate attorney will be able to help you in this matter.
Thanks

Hi Megan!
Welcome to forums!
You can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name. Then you can sell off the property.
